I love Chicago. When I lived in Naperville we'd ditch high school almost weekly and spend the day at the Art Institute and Marshall Fields, buy a bottle of wine and take it to the shore ... What a view you have!
I had many favorites, but perhaps the two that struck me most were the Manets, and if I'm not mistaken, they were on either side of a doorway -- The Philosopher and The Beggar.
Is this where you live now?
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteThe particular location is rented, so we will probably move yet again, but I think we will be based in Chicago for a while.

ReplyDeleteThankfully, the Art Institute endures. I was just there, trying to visit the Hopper "Nighthawks" but it's out and about, due back in a month.

ReplyDeleteWent there today. Visited modern wing, mid-twentieth century stuff. I am very impressed with their collection.
